To put it lightly, Saturday night at the art show was a success. Anyone who went would describe it as being more like a rock venue than a fine art gallery fundraiser. Lots of pieces were displayed, lots of money was raised, lots of alcohol was consumed and lots of music was heard through the night. Here is a brief recap of the festivities.

Guests were greeted with one of the two massive banners hung around the museum.

Shepard Fairey wove his mixing magic for audiences in the larger of the two galler rooms that the show took over in the museum.

Tables of merch lined the entryway of the show with shirts and other paraphenalia for people to buy and help raise even more money for Sea Shepard. Two shirts for sale were designed by yours truly.

The infamous Bill Folds wandered the halls, looking rather diabolical underneath this light in one of the hallways.

Matt Costa finished up the night with an acoustic concert in the main gallery room.

Mr. Fairey was swarmed by fans after the concert, all wanting a picture with him or at least to shake his hand in congratulations on his awesome work.

Caught a snapshot of Mikey-B in front of Shepard’s largest piece, The Peace Goddess.

My first piece, Smoke, sold for $450, a whopping $150 more than I valued it at.

My second piece, Oil, sold for $1100. We believe alcohol was involved in this bid.

If you missed it, you only have to wait till next year when Sea No Evil will return to raise more money and more awareness for the Sea Shepard Conservation Society. I know I will definitely be there.

So, to repeat again the post I threw up on here a few days ago, the Sea No Evil Art Show is happening this Saturday. Everyone who reads this blog and is in the Riverside area needs to come. I have already gotten to see some of the art up and its going to be a pretty tight gallery. Shepard Fairey’s 11 submissions alone are some of the coolest pieces I have seen in a while. Also, two digital photo prints on particle board of mine will be up for bidding so come and show the love to Jonny-Ri. Here is a preview of one of my submissions that will be on display.

So, come to the show, its just a $5 donation at the door and you get to see all the art and get a concert on the roof by Matt Costa. Not a bad deal. Plus, you might see something you’d want to bid on for that empty space above the fireplace. Hope to see you all there.

Seriously funny ish.

Whats with all these great chick rockers coming to my attention lately? I maybe listened to one or two girl artists all last year and this year alone I have found at least a dozen new faves in the musical world of the female persuasion. Stumbled upon Brandi Carlile while checking out my boy Jeremy Cowart’s blog where he just finished shooting her in studio. I don’t know about you but I like her.
