Day 1

November 22nd, 2007 by admin

Hooray for driving 7 hours up California. I just love driving. Wish I could drive all day long and never stop…and get a filling in my teeth at the same time…while someone pulls my toenails off and pours salt on the open flesh. Ya, that would be so great.

Finally up here with the Salinas fam and get to see my sweetness again after a 5 day drought.

But I get my number one girl back and lose my number two for three days. There is just no balance in the world.

Office Pranks

November 22nd, 2007 by admin

A lot of people do different things to break up the monotony of a work day. Some take coffee breaks, others go outside for a smoke, we at Monster Media prefer to play pranks on each other…constantly. You have seen evidence of our “Photoshop Pranks” on my blog before. There is also an ongoing game of intense “peek-a-boo” where we are constantly trying to scare each other around corners and behind desks to see if we can get the other person to freak out. Here is another prank, the controltac prank:

skin_01.jpg

We do wraps and cutvinyl for a lot of different companies and a lot of times we have scraps or extras lying around the office. Derric has had 5 of these Skin cutvinyls for months and finally decided to use them on his way out of the office on Tuesday and put them on everyone’s cars in the parking lot, mine being one of the lucky five.

Don’t worry, there will be repurcussions for this heinous act.

Good times.

Pirate Jack

November 18th, 2007 by admin

Watching “James & The Giant Peach” and noticing there was a pirate jack way before Mr. Sparrow:

Apparently Skellington makes a cameo in an underwater pirate scene. “The Nightmare Before Christmas” has the same director as “James…” so I guess it makes sense.

By The Pound

Two Reasons I Blog: I love to share and I love to create. The blog allows both to be done in a digital format that is easily updated. Unfortunately, I am so burned out with computers during the week the weekend is the only time I really blog now. So I guess I am now a “Bulk Blogger”.

Went to lunch with Monsieur Epic and Senior Rican on Thursday and they asked for some gore pics of Toby’s condition (the rican is a biology boy, I don’t know why the epic was so interested)

This is all there is to see on the outside of Toby, the worst of his wounds are his broken ribs and my camera just isn’t good enough to do xray shots (how cool would that be if it did…) This cut is his biggest, its about the size of a nickel in diameter but its all scabbed up now.

Went to work CIF with Mr. Dagoba yesterday. 13 hours of water polo and tshirt selling.

Some highlights:

We both read a lot since there wasn’t a lot of business during games, mostly during transitions between two of them. Evan had his mind blown by a piece of the literary works of Clive Staples Lewis.

A fella came up to buy some merch who sounded like someone familiar. After he bought some shirts and a beenie he walked away and took his sunglasses and hat off and I realized it was Bill Engvall from the Blue Color Comedy gang. I despise paparazzi but I had to get physical evidence of our encounter so I grabbed a long distance shot of him leaving when his son’s game was over

Had dinner at Jack in Box. No one else was in the restaurant except for this man:

Just chilling in Jack in the Box, 9pm on a Saturday, in full suit and tie, reading James Patterson’s “The Lakehouse”. Good times.

Wanted: Book

November 15th, 2007 by admin

I been reading The Golden Compass for the last week or so and I am about halfway through with it at this point. I am trying to read it before the movie is released so I can be on the up and up when it does. The problem is I had the book checked out under my wife’s library card and neither of us realized it was due on Tuesday this week. By the time my wife noticed it was marked “late” on her online library account we couldn’t renew it because the book had been put on hold for someone else who wanted it. So pretty much, I had to take the book back to the library, I am halfway through it and I am not sure I am going to be able to get another copy before the movie comes out. I am quite distraught. Anybody out there have a copy I may borrow for a little while? Promise to have it back to you by December 7 or sooner.
