Arkansas Church
September 17th, 2007 by adminFound this church in Eureka Springs that is like the “Green” version of the crystal cathedral called Thorncrown Chapel.

Besides the fact that this thing looks awesome it was built equally awesomely. Fay Jones, the architect, did everything he could to preserve the surrounding area and blend the architecture into the natural settings.
“In order to preserve Thorncrown’s natural setting, Fay decided that no structural element could be larger than what two men could carry through the woods.”
I’m all for the beauty of the cathedral style church but let’s be honest, churches were built that way originally because they were meant to be a fortress in case of an attack. How cool would it be if churches built nowadays were not concrete cubes but instead built right into their natural surroundings.
