Our first port was in Santa Barbara. It was a tender port (look at me with my fancy nautical terminology) so we rode in on our boats and then walked around the boulevard a little, followed by a tour bus through most of the city. Kathy & I came to the conclusion that Santa Barbara seems like a great weekend getaway location, we were very sad to only get to spend half a day there. When we got back on the ship we had our first formal dinner night at one of the nicer restaurants on the lower decks.

Lifehouse Theater is known for commissioning artists to take well known theatrical shows and rewrite them as original pieces with brand new music and dialogue. For the past few weeks a production of Peter Pan, written and composed by my friends Jordan Beck & Johnny May of Greenstage Productions, has been running there. The director of the show is also a friend of mine, Dustin Ceidhammer, who is extremely talented in nearly all areas of theatrical performance including choreography which he also provided to the show. Here are a few “in progress” shots I had the privalege of taking a few weeks back while they were still in rehearsals.

Caffeinated Cabaret Presents hosted a night of UCIrvine at Coffee Depot this last Sunday. Really talented group of performers made up the team for the night, all from the theater department at the college. Here are some faves from the night.

Insane lightning and thunder going on yesterday so what do I do? Stand on top of the roof of a tall office building and point a metal camera up in the air.

Went around Riverside the other day with these two shooting for their engagement photos. Jordan and Bettina are really quite the couple, I don’t think I could pull Jordan away from her if I tried. Can’t wait to do their wedding at the end of the Summer.

Kathy and I are both back from our cruise up north. I am still going through all of the photos I took along the way so check back later for a more extensive selection from the trip. For now, here’s one of my first shots taken on ship going out of port in San Pedro.

A lot of you probably don’t know this but one of my favorite genres of music is comedy music like Stephen Lynch or Bo Burnham or Flight of the Concords. A recent find of mine thanks to Pandora was the Australian based trio called Tripod. What struck me the most out of these guys was that they not only have great comedic lyrics and timing but are also talented musicians, specifically their harmonizations with each other. Below is one of their videos which is not a comedy but instead a tribute to Radiohead. Check em out on youtube or download one of their albums, some pretty good ish.
